Bruce began his unique career path when he accepted a position as a secretary in the HR training department for an Atlantic City casino, rather than attending college right out of high school. That was the start of over three decades as an HR practitioner across multiple industries, including hospitality, healthcare, and financial services. During his corporate career, Bruce held numerous positions across the HR practice including Director of Human Resources, HR Business Partner, as well as staff and management roles in the HR Centers of Excellence of compensation, benefits, HR governance, and training & development. With the goal of achieving his true dream of becoming a university professor, Bruce left his corporate career in 2017 to become a full-time student at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. He later transferred to Penn State where he received a BS in Labor and Employment Relations and MS in Labor and Employment Relations.
Bruce also has multiple HR certifications, including the Society for Human Resource Mangement Senior Certified Profession (SHRM-SCP), along with the World at Work Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP).
