Professional Bio

Emilda Terere is a professional with five years of experience in labor rights advocacy, project management, monitoring evaluation and learning for the Informal Economy Workers. She has vast experience of research, policy engagements in informal economy in Zimbabwe. Since 2019- 2024 Emilda has worked as a Programmes and Gender Officer with Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Associations- a membership based organisation that organise informal workers in Zimbabwe.

With a solid commitment to improve the livelihoods of informal economy workers, she developed, implemented projects in gender mainstreaming, climate-ecofriendly, mental wellness and leadership that transformed especially women working in the informal economy across ten provinces of Zimbabwe.

Emilda holds an honors degree in Peace and Governance, An executive Certificate in Programme and Project Monitoring and Evaluation 2020-2021: University of Zimbabwe. In 2023 she attended University of Witswatersrand, South Africa and attained a Certificate in Union Rights. Policy and Practice, Training for Global Union Activists. Currently, Emilda is a Masters student pursuing Professional Studies in Labor and Global Workers Rights at Penn State.
