UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Center for Workplace Performance (CWP) is offering the two additional courses that constitute its Managing People sequence. Each will be taught via Zoom on the dates noted below.
INTRODUCTION TO SUPERVISION: HELPING PEOPLE WORK BETTER
One of the important roles of any supervisor is to help employees work to the best of their ability. In this context, supervisors will help staff develop their abilities and their understanding of appropriate roles as independent variables resulting in better performance. This course will ask participants to consider ways in which they can truly acquire competence in this staff development function.

Cost: $295

HRCI recertification credits (pending approval)

COUNSELING AND DISCIPLINE
A counseling session is a discussion about an apparent performance problem. Every supervisor will eventually conduct such a meeting. It is imperative that individuals understand the relationship between that important activity and the disciplinary process. Many supervisors confuse this discussion with a disciplinary penalty. This course will treat a counseling session as a method to avoid discipline. By placing these two topics together, we can help those who must use these tools to better understand how they relate.
