This scholarship will be offered to students in a World Campus School of LER program who have encountered an unexpected financial hardship/emergency that arises during their enrollment in an active course.
Examples of eligible circumstances (this list is not exhaustive):
- Loss of household income
- Loss of technical resources/equipment
- Medical expenses
- Housing insecurity
Decisions are subject to committee review and evaluation. Scholarship awards typically range from $500–$2,000 per student.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible students must be enrolled in an online School of LER program (OLEAD, LER, or HRER)
- Students must have completed at least six credits at Penn State.
- Undergraduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Graduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75
- Awards will be need-based as determined by the awards committee
- Requests will be reviewed as received. Consideration will continue until funds are exhausted for that academic year.
- Support for successive requests is at the discretion of the committee.
- Penn State employees are not eligible to receive this scholarship
