“A Prime moment for labor organizing, how workers took on amazon and won”
The Center for Global Workers’ Rights and the Consortium for Social Movements and Education Research and Practice hosts an Amazon Staten Island labor union representatives Chris Smalls and Derrick Palmero on Nov. 2 at 5:30pm in Foster Auditorium.
Against crushing odds, workers at the Amazon distribution center in Staten Island, New York, voted to form the Amazon Labor Union on April 1, 2022. Two of the leaders of this grassroots effort, Chris Smalls and Derrick Palmer, will talk about how workers won this historic victory against one of the world's most powerful corporations and what comes next.
