Mock Interview Program

Mock Interview Program

The School of Labor and Employment Relations is seeking alumni volunteers to provide mock interviews on a by-request basis for LHR students.

Students will request mock interviews through an online form. Students will be matched with alumni volunteers based on their major and/or career interests. Students will contact their volunteer “matches” to arrange the interview date, time, and location. The format of the interview can vary depending upon the needs of the particular student. Some students will want a traditional, formal interview while others may be simply seeking some interview tips or advice.

Mock interviews should be approximately one hour each in length. Most interviews will take place via phone or Skype. Local volunteers may suggest an in-person interview; in this case, we will work with students as needed to secure on-campus interview space. Volunteers should expect to assist with 1–3 interviews per academic year.

Alumni volunteer responsibilities will include:

  • Replying to student inquiries in a timely manner (preferably within 2 business days) to coordinate interview dates, times, and locations.
  • Providing feedback after each mock interview has been completed.
