Professional Bio

Pamela M. Dixon, Ph.D., MEd, CDLP is a Teaching Professor of Human Resources Management and Organizational Leadership in the School of Labor and Employment Relations. She teaches undergraduate courses in HR Management, Research Methods in Labor and Employment Relations, and Introduction to Leadership. Her teaching approach emphasizes experiential learning, simulation-based instruction, and connecting evidence-based HR practice to real-world application.

Pamela Dixon brings more than 35 years of HR practitioner experience spanning manufacturing, healthcare, nonprofit, government, and professional services industries. She has held senior HR leadership roles and maintains an active HR consulting practice. Her research interests include personal epistemology, mentoring outcomes and organizational impact, learning transfer in management development, and experiential pedagogy and high-impact teaching practices.

Pamela Dixon earned her Ph.D. in Human Resource Studies from Colorado State University, her MEd from the University of Minnesota–Duluth with emphases in education technology, adult learning, and experiential education, and her BA in Organizational Studies from Bethel University. Prior to joining Penn State, she held faculty positions at the University of St. Thomas, Viterbo University, the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, Wayne State College, Colorado State University, and Regis University. Outside the classroom, she is an avid hiker and paddler with a background in outdoor experiential education and enjoys exploring central Pennsylvania's trails and waterways with her two dogs, Ary and Tib.
