Biography:

As an exceptional trade unionist, experienced in workers' rights advocacy and collective bargaining strategy with seven years of full-time work in national and international labor advocacy, Mr. Vanyanbah became one of Liberia's most influential trade unionists. He is the Vice-Chairman for the National Youth Wing of the Liberia Labor Congress, with over 100,000 young workers, and the Assistant Secretary-General for Administration of the Liberia Industrial Workers’ Union which has over 4000 membership. Mr. Vanyanbah has empowered many national unions through trade union education and worker solidarity. He contributed to Liberia's labor law reform, national youth policy and formed the Mano River Youth Council ( Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast). In 2017, Mr. Vanyanbah's leadership experience led him to positions in Liberia Labor Congress and the Liberia Industrial Workers’ Union.

An enthusiastic and versatile trade unionist, human rights advocate, and researcher, Mr. Vanyanbah wishes to bring his substantial experience in the struggle for workers’ rights and social justice to a six-week capstone experience with a U.S. based union, NGO, or other progressive organization dedicated to promoting the interest of workers.
