Medora McCarthy is currently a senior enrolled in an Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Program, pursuing a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations and a Bachelor’s Degree in Labor and Employment Relations. In conjunction with her academics, Medora is also a student-athlete and expected to graduate in May 2020.


This past summer, Medora gained valuable experience working as in intern in Blue Bottle Coffee’s People Operations department. She had the opportunity to shadow all areas of a Human Resources department, including training, recruitment, compensation, benefits, and management. Additionally, she was responsible for developing a more user-friendly training calendar, compiling research on current employment laws,  and comparative research about company benefits.


As a student-athlete, Medora is heavily involved in the Athletic Director’s Leadership Institute, which focuses on developing athletes into leaders. She is currently the Women’s Epee Fencing Team Captain. Additionally, she works closely with the Athletic Department as a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board focusing on developing more mental health-related programs. Medora is also the Vice President of the school’s Active Minds chapter, working to erase the stigma surrounding the conversation about mental health.
