Biography:
Kathryn Dlugos is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management in the School of Labor and Employment Relations. Prior to joining the School, she earned her Ph.D. in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. Kathryn’s research highlights the benefits and challenges associated with internal hiring and promotions. She examines how market-based hiring processes (such as job posting) lead to better-quality internal matches, how organizations can mute the negative consequences of rejecting internal candidates, and how the composition of candidate pools shapes outcomes such as job performance and turnover. Her work has been nominated for multiple scholarly awards and is published in the Academy of Management Journal.
