I am a second-year graduate student at Penn State University enrolled in the IUG Master’s program in Human Resources and Employment Relations. I graduated in May 2020 with a BS in Labor and Employment Relations as well as a minor in Business and the Liberal Arts. I anticipate receiving my MS in Human Resources and Employment Relations in May 2021.

During the spring of my sophomore year, I had the opportunity to study abroad at the National University of Ireland-Galway where I maintained six courses including International Business and Psychology. This gave me a very unique academic experience while exposing me to many different cultures as I was able to travel to seven different countries.

During the summer of 2019, I interned with Spectra as a Talent Acquisition Intern in Philadelphia. Spectra is an industry leader in Venue Management, Food Services & Hospitality and was formerly part of Comcast Spectacor. While working as an intern, I was exposed to most aspects of the employee recruitment and on-boarding process including access to the applicant tracking system and direct candidate communication. This internship allowed me to gain a better understanding of not only the talent acquisition functions of HR, but also how HR impacts the entire organization.

I was fortunate to be chosen for an HR internship during the COVID-19 summer of 2020 with a technology company called FIDx. One of my roles during the pandemic was to assist the Chief of Staff in the enhancement and deployment of the company’s business continuity plan. Additionally, I was responsible for attending the daily DevOps meetings as well as designing and drafting company procedures in preparation for a SOX compliance audit. Although the entire internship required me to work remotely, it was an incredible experience. I really enjoyed interacting with so many people in different areas of the company.

Outside the classroom, I have been an active member of Penn State’s chapter of the Society of Human Resources Management and a member of the Dancer Relations Committee for THON.

As I continue to develop and expand my knowledge in the field of human resources through my studies at PSU, I am also looking for a full-time human resources position upon graduation in May 2021.
