“Genius Grant” Awardee Visits LER to Discuss Her Work
On February 11, LER welcomed Ai-Jen Poo, Director of the National Domestic Alliance (NDWA) and Co-director of the Caring Across Generations campaign, to campus for a presentation titled “The Future of Care: What We Need for a Changing America”. The talk was part of a tour to promote her book, “Aging with Dignity: Preparing for the Elder Boom in a Changing America.” Poo’s inspirational talk was hosted by the LER’s Center for Global Workers’ Rights, and co-sponsored by the Department of Women’s Studies, the Department of Asian Studies., the Center for Global Studies, and the Central Pennsylvania Area Labor Federation, AFL-CIO.

4th Global Conference on International Human Resources Management Held at Penn State
A conference encouraging broadening the knowledge of international human resource management, the 4thGlobal Conference on International Human Resources Management, was held May 9-11 in the Chambers Building at University Park. This continues the now biennial tradition of running this conference since 2013. Organized by the Center for International Human Resource Studies (CIHRS), an initiative from the School of Labor and Employment Relations, conference attendees included more than sixty scholars from eighteen countries whose research focuses on the field of international human resource management (IHRM).

"American Factory" Screening March 3
The Center for Global Workers' Rights in the School of Labor and Employment Relations and the Sustainability Institute will be hosting a free screening of the Oscar-Winning film, "American Factory" on March 3 at 7 p.m. in HUB 132 Flex Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.
