Stephen is a graduate student in Penn State University's 5-year Human Resources / Employment Relations IUG program. He intends to graduate in May of 2018 with a Master’s of Science in Human Resources and Employment Relations.

Stephen has a diverse range of professional experience. This past summer, Stephen worked as a Human Resources Intern for Penguin Random House. During his time at Penguin Random House, Stephen played a key role in the recruitment process by conducting phone interviews with potential new-hires and provided feedback to hiring managers. Stephen also managed corporate social media accounts to aid in company-wide recruitment efforts. During the summer of 2016, Stephen worked as a Social Media Marketing Intern for The Bacharach Leadership Group (BLG) led by Professor Samuel Bacharach, Director of the Cornell Institute for Workplace Studies. During his time with BLG, Stephen managed social media channels and actively participated in marketing projects for The Agenda Mover book published by the Cornell University Press. During the summer of 2015, Stephen worked as a legal intern for Tuff City Records in New York City. While interning at Tuff City Records, Stephen assisted the legal department with drafting licensing agreements, conducting legal research, and registering musical copyrights with the United States Copyright Office.

In May of 2016, Stephen was selected to enroll in an embedded program offered by Penn State and based in Jönköping, Sweden. While studying in Sweden, Stephen attended seminars at Jönköping University and Gothenburg University focused on global human resource management within a welfare system. He also had the opportunity to visit the Swedish Board of Agriculture, Husqvarna Group, IKEA, and Volvo Group to observe corporate HR practices. While in Sweden, Stephen gained valuable insight pertaining to cultural diversity, international labor relations, and the application of basic human resources practices in a global setting.

In addition to his interests in Human Resources and Employment Relations, Stephen is actively involved with the Penn State Dance Marathon. Stephen was a member of the Dancer Relations Committee for THON 2017. As a committee member, Stephen ensured the safety and well-being of volunteers selected as dancers for THON Weekend. Stephen was also selected as a Fundraising Specialist for THON 2017. As a Fundraising Specialist, Stephen assisted in the development of fundraising strategies and evaluated fundraising programs benefitting families impacted by pediatric cancer. Stephen is dedicated and eager to apply the skills he has learned to a well-respected organization.
