Haley Banashefski is currently in her first year of the Integrated Undergraduate/Graduate program pursuing a Master of Science in Human Resources and Employment Relations, a Bachelor of Science in Labor and Employment Relations, and minors in International Studies and Spanish. She will be graduating from Penn State’s Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Program in May of 2019.

Her life has been a continuous story of learning how to adapt to new places and integrating into diverse cultural communities. She moved every three years growing up, spending formative years in Lagos, Nigeria and Baku, Azerbaijan. Being immersed in various cultures helped her understand the importance of diversity, inclusion, and individual empowerment, and these experiences helped to shape her into the person she is today. Her passion for adventure and new experiences led her to Spain for a semester where she immersed herself in the culture and language.

Her past professional experiences include a summer Human Resources internship at a 9-week residential summer camp for people with intellectual disabilities, and a Human Resources internship at Strawberry Fields, Inc. where she has learned about and gained hands-on experience in many aspects of the Human Resources fields including Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Health Care, Benefits, and Training and Development.

Growing up abroad, paired with her Bachelor’s and Master’s coursework, extensive involvement in Penn State’s extracurricular activities, and her internship experiences have equipped her with the skills required to excel as a Human Resource Professional, both nationally and internationally.
