School of LER Raises Money for United Way

February 1, 2018

When visiting the School of Labor and Employment Relations on the fifth floor in Keller Building, students and faculty will notice food and drinks available for purchase in the lobby. The assortment of candy, popcorn, soda and water are all available to buy for $1, and all proceeds are donated to the United Way.

The fundraiser is a small portion of the philanthropic endeavors the School has undertaken over the last few years. Last December, the School placed a box in the lobby to collect donations for Toys for Tots. The drive was so successful, the box of donations was overflowing by the end of the collection dates.

The School has also raised money and gathered donations for local organizations, including Centre County PAWS and the Centre County Women’s Resource Center. Students, faculty and staff donate to the various projects.

Career and Recruitment Coordinator, Jessica Steele, is the mastermind behind the School’s philanthropic endeavors. She helps pick the organization to donate to as well as coordinates the donation collections.

Come stop by 506 Keller to purchase items to support United Way and keep your eyes peeled for the School's next donation drive or fundraiser!
