Biography:

Stan Gully is a Professor of Human Resource Management in the School of Labor and Employment Relations. Stan earned his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Michigan State University in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. He has interests in leadership and team effectiveness, individual differences and motivation, strategic staffing and recruitment, and employee wellness. He also has interests in multi-level theory and analysis. Stan has published numerous articles, chapters, and books on these topics and he was inducted as a Fellow of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has been noted as one of the most highly cited scholars in his profession (Podsakoff et al., 2008) and he is on the list of most influential management scholars inside and outside the Academy (Aguinis et al., 2012). He is currently serving on or has served on the editorial boards of Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Journal of Management, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. He served as the founding co-editor of the Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management series for Business Expert Press and edited numerous books in that role. His applied work includes, but is not limited to, leveraging employee surveys to enhance strategic decision-making and organizational effectiveness, the creation and evaluation of strategic recruitment and staffing programs, development of effective and legally compliant hiring programs, and improvement of employee wellness, performance, and retention.
