Erin Harklerode Truesdale
Erin is a second year graduate student at Penn State University, pursuing her M.S. in Human Resources and Employment Relations. Erin grew up in Lewistown, Pennsylvania, and obtained her B.S. in Psychology from Lock Haven University. Erin is currently employed by Penn State’s School of Hospitality Management, where she works full-time as an Administrative Support Assistant.
Erin recently completed an eight month long internship with Penn State Outreach Human Resources. In this role, Erin developed proficiency in full life cycle recruiting, and gained experience in many other aspects of Human Resources, such as employee relations and union agreements. Erin’s most notable accomplishment was successfully recruiting a qualified candidate, using recruitment channels, such as LinkedIn and Indeed, to fill a Database Specialist position within Outreach. This internship experience provided opportunity for development of knowledge and skills that will be imperative for a successful career in Human Resources. Upon her anticipated graduation in May 2017, Erin is highly motivated to find a full-time position in recruiting or general Human Resources.
In her free time, Erin enjoys traveling and exploring the outdoors with her husband, running, eating good food, and spending time with her two dogs. Erin looks forward to any opportunities she will have during her final year at Penn State.
