I am a first year graduate student from Nigeria and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Human Resources and Employment Relations degree here at Penn State University. I completed my undergraduate study at the University of Ghana where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. My undergraduate education exposed me to various aspects of human behavior and helped me narrow my interests from applied psychology in general to applied psychology in business and the workplace.
I seek and welcome every opportunity to learn and develop myself as a person. I frequently participated in student activities and also held an elected position in student government. I have a passion for child healthcare and fighting malaria as it is a cause that hits close to home for me.
Since graduation, I have worked in both the public and private sectors. From these experiences, I learned how to work under considerable pressure in the bureaucratic environment of a government agency and also how to be flexible and adapt in the changing circumstances of a private organization. It also helped me develop professional etiquettes in dealing with people and conflict.
Professionally, I am interested in developing and implementing strategies that will leverage individual competences in maximizing business outcomes.
